ABSTRACT

Der im Jahr 1282 einsetzende Aufstand der sizilianischen Kommunen gegen den König von Neapel gehört zum Standardrepertoire der romantischen Imagination von Historie. Die europaweite Zirkulation der «Vespri siciliani» und ihre Darstellung in Literatur, Melodram und bildender Kunst bilden den Ausgangspunkt zu einem interdisziplinären Kolloquium über die mediale Transformation und Popularisierung von Revolten in Deutschland und Italien zwischen Revolutionszeitalter und Risorgimento.
