Mylius-Tour: Milano, Berlin, München

The Focus of the Year 2019 aims to create a link between the contemporary and Enrico Mylius. In this way, starting from the concepts of creativity, sustainability and development, a bridge is created between current issues and the figure of the "founding father" of Villa Vigoni, whose 250th anniversary is celebrated in 2019.

In August 2019 the exhibition “Enrico Mylius (1769-1854): a European citizen between Frankfurt am Main and Milan” was held, the result of the collaboration between Villa Vigoni and the Museum Giersch der Goethe-Universität and an opportunity to illustrate his role of merchant, banker and benefactor. The works on display have allowed us to talk about the Italian-German network created by Enrico Mylius, from economic and commercial relationships, to private ones, including contacts with artists and writers.

The “Mylius-Tour” includes a series of events in the cities of Milan, Berlin and Munich to celebrate this anniversary. The new biography of Enrico Mylius released for Villa Vigoni Editore│Verlag and the collective volume „Heinrich Mylius (1769-1854) und die deutsch-italienischen Verbindungen im Zeitalter der Revolution“ will be presented. Famous scholars will  also give lectures on different aspects of the Mylius era.
