Villa Vigoni offers professional skills and support to foster the development of scientific cooperation between Italy, Germany and Europe, bringing together those involved in the world of research.
The competitions which are conceived and promoted in partnership with some of Europe’s most important research institutes, together with the spaces and tools for sharing ideas and for further study, represent some of the most important resources offered by Villa Vigoni; an international laboratory of ideas.
Together with Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) and Fondation Maison des sciences de l’homme (FMSH), Villa Vigoni promotes international scientific collaboration and the creation of new networks of researchers, experts and young people in the field of the humanities and social sciences.
It has therefore developed and implemented two conference programme formats with different characteristics ‒ one bilateral (Italy-Germany) and one trilateral (Italy-Germany-France). The initiatives in these two formats take place in Villa Vigoni and are regulated by annual candidacies and competitions.
The programme developed in partnership with the DFG offers the chance to propose conferences (talks, seminars for graduates and post-graduates and close readings) in order to discuss topical issues in the fields of culture, history and European society.
The programme conceived in partnership with the DFG and the FMSH aims to bring together and develop networks of researchers from Italy, France and Germany, in order to support the use of German, French and Italian as languages of research.
