The Focus of the Year for 2019 aims to establish a link between contemporary society and Enrico Mylius, building a bridge between present-day issues and the memory of Villa Vigoni’s “founding father”, who was born 250 years ago this year. The concepts of creativity, sustainability and progress seem ideal for understanding the mindset and role of an innovative figure such as Mylius from a historical, cultural, economic and political perspective, while also exploring his remarkable commitment to German-Italian relations during the first half of the nineteenth century.
Today, creativity, sustainability and progress are indispensable when it comes to identifying new directions for the future of our European societies. Villa Vigoni will be dedicating a number of projects to the Focus of the Year, including the Vigoni Forum, the Vigoni Students’ Forum, the Vigoni Lecture, Vigoni Musica and Vigoni for Europe.
