The aim of the project is to examine “turning points”, upheavals and new beginnings from different perspectives and through the lens of different disciplines. It is concerned with both long term changes and abrupt upheavals.

The Vigoni Lab – Perspectives on Politics and Society is an academic network that intends to promote comparative studies in the field of political science and history of international relations between Italy and Germany in the context of European integration.

Promoted by the German-Italian economic association MERCURIO, the initiative “Wissen teilen | Per una scienza partecipata” was born out of a desire to examine current issues in depth, but also to investigate from a German-Italian perspective how scientific knowledge is formed, exploited and disseminated.

The University of Excellence of Hamburg, the Europa-Kolleg Hamburg, the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy, and the German-Italian Centre for the European Dialogue Villa Vigoni together are promoting a new project: the Hamburg-Vigoni Forum.

The Goethe-Universität of Frankfurt am Main, the Villa Vigoni, the Italian General Consulate in Frankfurt and the State Chancellery of Hessen conceived a new format: the Goethe-Vigoni Discorsi. Open Dialogues on Europe’s Economic and Monetary Union (EMU).

With its project “EuropeLab. Applied Knowledge” Villa Vigoni aims to stimulate an exchange between the Italian and German educational systems.

Villa Vigoni will continue its activities in the field of public history in 2020 and 2021. With a series of initiatives, it is addressing the younger generations in particular.

The Raphael in Reproductions conference (one of the events celebrating the five hundredth anniversary of the painter’s death) aims to explore the reception of Raphael’s work in a global context.

Villa Vigoni signed a partnership agreement with the Brexit Institute of Dublin City University, which will allow the two institutions to jointly undertake a multi-annual research project on the future of the EU institutional order in comparative perspective.

VigoniForEurope, conceived and realised in collaboration with the Italian and German Ministries of Foreign Affairs, is an annual forum dedicated to cultural policies that aims to offer a platform for discussion at European level.

Every year Villa Vigoni promotes a meeting between representatives of the most qualified Italian and German media.

Vigoni Musica, the musical program of Villa Vigoni, aims to promote young musicians internationally, offering them a platform for performance, training and cultural exchanges.

The Vigoni Summer Seminar is dedicated to lovers of Italy, who wish to deepen their knowledge of the country and its inhabitants.

In July, Villa Vigoni hosts the Vigoni Forum, a conference on the theme of the Focus of the year, conceived to discuss, with experts in the sector, on the most topical issues of the European debate.

The Vigoni Lecture is an annual event conceived by Villa Vigoni. It consists of a public report by a leading figure from the world of politics, culture, economics or research.

Every year in September there is the Vigoni Students’ Forum, founded in 2012 thanks to the support of the Supporters’ Circle of Friends and aimed at university students of different disciplines.
