German-Italian Cooperation in the Humanities and Social Sciences.

Together with the DFG (German Research Foundation) and the FMSH (Fondation Maison des sciences de l'homme), Villa Vigoni promotes international scientific cooperation and the establishment of new networks between (young) researchers and experts in the humanities and social sciences. To this end, two programmes with different characteristics have been developed and realised: a bilateral (Italy-Germany) and a trilateral (Italy-Germany-France) format. The events within the framework of these two programmes take place at the Villa Vigoni after application to annual calls.

Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft & Villa Vigoni

The programme, developed in cooperation with the DFG, offers the opportunity to submit proposals for conferences (colloquia, doctoral and postdoctoral seminars or "close reading" format) to address current topics on European culture, history and society.

The focus is on intesive discussion rather than on reports, which deliberately differs from the usual conference formats. The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 25.

The conferences must be related to the mission of Villa Vigoni, strengthen German-Italian relations in the fields of research, education and culture in a European context and promote young researchers.
