The new format Vigoni Ricerca, launched in 2022, is aimed at offering opportunities of discussion, exploration and visibility to scholars working in fields that straddle the humanities and social sciences and the hard sciences and who are in a particularly delicate phase of their academic careers (after completing their doctorate).
The interdisciplinary character of the format lies not only in the involvement of researchers who are carrying out interdisciplinary projects, but also in the fact that each participant listens to and takes part in the discussions of all projects, even those which do not belong to their own field. This provides an extraordinary opportunity for scientific discussion and the development of dissemination skills, which are increasingly in demand in the university's Third Mission.
On the occasion of the first event, Villa Vigoni brought together a group of up-and-coming scholars and experts from Italy and Germany to address the topic of sustainability from interdisciplinary perspectives, ranging from the humanities to the hard sciences, from academia to international organisations, from history to current affairs.
