The rise of the digital age poses three challenges to scholars in Religious Studies: 1) How to deal with data that are and will be available digitally or physically at the same time; 2) How to make efficient use of digitally available material; 3) How to do research exploiting the new digital options.
The seminar is an opportunity to think about models to make data repositories and their collections available to a larger community and contribute to and profit from Big Humanities Data as a new paradigm, while also discussing opportunities and risks of Artificial Intelligence and Data Mining for the field.
