The idea is to combine the Vigoni Forum and the Vigoni Concert in a single, eclectic event, which will discuss the role of cultural policies in the context of migrations and globalisation, focussing on politics, art and music. This will give the audience the opportunity to reconsider a delicate subject such as migration from a different perspective, between theory and practice. After hearing leading German and Italian experts debate over the current issues related to cultural and migratory policies, the event will give place to art and music through a dedicated exhibition and concert, aiming to spur new thinking in the observers and listeners alike.
Therefore, Villa Vigoni in collaboration with the Vigoni Forum and the Vigoni Concert is pleased to host the exhibition “Homes: Syrian Stories through Arists’s Eyes” curated by Agnese Gallo of Art.9, which will display the works of the Syrian artists: Adnan Samman, Mohammad Khayata and Mohammad Zaza.
On July 7th at 6 pm, on the occasion of the Vigoni Concert, there will be a performance of Domo Emigrantes, a musical group born out of a desire to promote the popular traditions of southern Italy and of the Mediterranean area, enriching them through a continuous research of ethnical elements, original arrangements and new instrumental colours (Kurdish tambûr, flutes and ethnical percussions, bagpipes, bouzukis, violins and cellos).
