Désirée Biehl graduated with a MA Degree in Global Security Studies from the University of Sheffield. Afterwards, she gained a Master’s Degree in the trilingual programme International and European Studies in Nice, Berlin and Rome at the Centre International de Formation Européene. Beforehand she graduated from University of Konstanz in Politics and Administration. Her first thesis dealt with the topic of remembrance politics in the case of violence against women in Bosnia. Her CIFE thesis dealt with remembrance in Ireland and the UK concerning remembrance traditions in everyday life and in school books concerning the Irish Troubles.
She joined the scientific staff of Villa Vigoni in february 2020.
