The aim of the meeting is to analyse what effects the the so-called Gregorian reform in the period between 1050 and 1150 had on the secular elites of Western Europe.
The aim is to understand how the emergence of a more autonomous ecclesiastical sphere influenced the way in which influenced the way in which secular elites perceived themselves and their role
