On Monday 1 July 2019, a working group will meet at Villa Vigoni to organise a scientific conference on silk in 2020.
The aim is to explore certain historical aspects of silk production during the lifetime of Enrico Mylius (first half of the nineteenth century), while also reflecting on current events, particularly development and sustainability through research and technological innovation. The conclusions of the conference will focus more generally on new Chinese trade routes in the Mediterranean area and on the "Como and Silk" project, which recently led to Como being nominated as a UNESCO Creative City.
