The paper begins with a short outline of the differing socio-economic contexts in which the three countries entered the crisis followed by its macroeconomic effects. The government measures to support the economy are presented. The paper outlines national investment plans and shows how they relate to the European funding (Next Generation EU); it closes with a short discussion of open questions and challenges ahead.
