Chancen und Herausforderungen für junge Generationen im Kontext globaler Veränderungen

Amid profound social and political transformations, the ability to anticipate future developments has become a strategic guidance tool for young people in Italy, Germany, and Europe. Global changes present both opportunities and challenges that will significantly shape the lives of future generations. This publication analyses three key megatrends: the future of artificial intelligence, (digital) communication, and defence and security policy. Based on various assumptions and influencing factors, plausible scenarios are developed to illuminate their medium-term impacts on society and youth. The analysis emphasises the pivotal role of the European Union, particularly in investing in technological innovation, regulating digital platforms, and establishing a common European defence framework. Building on these insights, the study formulates strategic recommendations to mitigate risks and harness opportunities for young people. This experimental study's findings demonstrate that futures-oriented approaches can serve as an effective instrument for the active and conscious shaping of global trends, ultimately aiming to foster futures literacy in younger generations.
