Historical-natural models versus genealogical conceptions. Goethe’s project of a second trip to Italy

Michele Vangi’s essay "Historical-natural models versus genealogical concepts. Goethe’s plans for a second journey to Italy" (in German) appeared in the miscellaneous volume Genealogien der Natur und des Geistes. Diskurse, Kontexte und Transformationen um 1800.

The book, edited by Franziska Bomski and Jürgen Stoltzenberg, forms part of the Zentrum für Klassikforschung scientific series and features a number of contributions that examine the evolution of the concept of development in various scientific and artistic fields in the late 18th and early 19th century.
