In cooperation with Villa Vigoni, Pierluigi Ledda, Managing Director of Archivio Storico Ricordi (with an introduction by Viola Usselmann), will run a workshop for up-and-coming musical artists on the family business of the Ricordi and the functioning of modern music management, at the Accademia Teatro alla Scala on 12 December 2019.
Ricordi is a synonym for great music: opera, classical and pop music have been decisively influenced by those artists whom Ricordi has supported through more than 200 years of publishing. Today, this impressive international history can be traced through the treasures of the historical Ricordi Archive. It is the most important private music collection worldwide: written music history by famous artists, immortal works by personalities such as Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini, and daring experiments by contemporary composers.
The archive, founded in 1808, the legacy of Ricordi Music Publishers, was acquired by the Bertelsmann Group in 1994. The institution's reputation is based on the extraordinary diversity of its archives, which document a complete panorama of Italian culture, economy and society.
