Manuele Veggi has been working in the Villa Vigoni team since September 2020, before as intern, then as external collaborator at the publishing house “Villa Vigoni Editore | Verlag” and at the Research and Projects Department.
He graduated in Italian Studies at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice in 2021 and is now enrolled in the last year of the MA “Digital Humanities and Digital Knowledge” at the Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna. He has been and is student at the honors colleges of the two universities, Ca’ Foscari International College and Collegio Superiore in Bologna, and attended courses with professors from Harvard University, Boston College and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität.
He is interested in the methodology for the exploitation of cultural heritage through digital tools, such as the opportunities offered by the semantic web (semantic scholarly digital editions, ontologies and linked open data) and interactive systems for museums. He is applying these techniques both through work experiences at the Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence and at the Fondazione Federico Zeri in Bologna, and during a research period as visiting student at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne – Laboratory for Experimental Museology (EPFL – eM+).
