Giovanni Meda Riquier started working for Villa Vigoni in 1996 where he is responsible for the preservation of the cultural patrimony and for the archives. In 1998 he concluded the second part of a study course in “Protection, Conservation and Valorisation of Cultural Goods“ (“Elementi di tutela, conservazione e valorizzazione dei beni culturali”). Regarding these subjects, he gave lectures at numerous conferences and at the Universities of Milan, Ancona and at the Università degli Studi dell’Insubria (Como), focussing particularly on historical villas and parks.
His scientific interests concern mainly the cultural ambience of the early 19th century in Milan and in Lombardy, with special regards to personalities as Giuseppe Bossi, Gaetano Cattaneo, Massimo d’Azeglio, Heinrich and Alessandro Manzoni. In the framework of the National and European Edition of Alessandro Manzoni‘s complete works, Giovanni Meda Riquier has edited a volume with literary exchanges of letters.
