Giovanna Chiara Italiano was awarded a double Italian-German Master’s degree in European and International Politics by the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano and the Martin Luther Universität Halle-Wittenberg, developing further international skills thanks to an M.A. in International Relations at ASERI and a B.A. in Foreign Languages & Economics.
She lived in Germany for a number of years, where she completed the abovementioned Master’s degree and obtained relevant professional experience at the Europa-Haus Leipzig e.V. and at the Institut für Strukturpolitik und Wirtschaftsförderung in Halle (Saale).
Prior to this she took part in the ERASMUS programme at the Katholische Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt in Bavaria. She lived in Austria for one year, where she worked at the OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) and the United Nations Office in Vienna (UNOV), monitoring the work of several International Organizations within the UN circuit. After moving to Belgium, she became a Blue Book Trainee in the Social Media Team at the Directorate General Joint Research Centre (DG JRC) of the European Commission in Brussels. In Italy, she collaborated with the ISPI (Italian Institute for International Political Studies) and took part in a project for Deloitte Financial Advisory in Milan. She also had the opportunity to work in the field of bespoke managerial courses and research at SDA Bocconi School of Management.
She now contributes to the monthly magazine Mark Up – Retail Marketing and has been Communication Officer at Villa Vigoni, German-Italian Centre for European Excellence, since the end of 2018.
