With the establishment of the Cluster for European Studies (CEUS) in 2021, Saarland University is systematically expanding its broadly-understood European orientation. In connection with this scheme, a longer-term cooperation with Villa Vigoni has been established to facilitate joint annual activities. The first "Excellence Lab Europe" will take place at Villa Vigoni from 9-13 September 2021. It will include a ceremonial act to open the cooperation as well as a summer school for early-career scholars dedicated to the topic "Restitution, Reparations, Reparation – Towards a New Global Society?”.
Prof Christiane Solte-Gresser and Prof Markus Messling (Saarland University) will act as hosts and official convenors.
