ABSTRACT

This project aims at illustrating the question of the first principle from Aristotle to Kant, according to the following lines which represent the themes of the three trilateral conferences: 1. Examination of the senses of the terms ἀρχή-αἰτία (principium-causa) in the ancient, medieval (latin and arab) and modern thought; 2. Examination of the terms ἀρχή-αἰτία (principium-causa) in the context of logic and metaphisics in the ancient, medieval (latin and arab) and modern thought; 3. Examination of the status and use of the Aristotelian principle of non contradiction in the ancient, medieval (latin and arab) and modern thought.
