Corpus linguistics has often proved useful in investigating different types of  discourses with both an intralingual and an interlingual perspective. The present study is an interlingual corpus linguistic discourse analysis aiming at comparing election discourses in the German and Italian national press. The temporal focus will be July-September 2017 for Germany and January-March 2018 for Italy. Corpus linguistic techniques will be used to focus on linguistic usage patterns that can provide information on topics and/or topoi in order to uncover peculiarities and similarities between the two election discourses. Analysis approaches such as word list compilation and keyword and collocation analyses are used.
