The project aims at initiating a basic discourse on the concept of life that is still outstanding in the life sciences. The thesis is that "life" must be integratively intertwined with the concept of "form" in terms of basic concepts and disciplines. The focus is on morphological approaches to "forms of life", liveliness as an aesthetic, biological and cultural category, and finally concepts of life and form in the corresponding sciences and their history.
