From 25 to 29 July 2022, the Centre for Interreligious Studies of the Almo Collegio Borromeo, Pavia, organizes at Villa Vigoni, the German-Italian Centre for the European Dialogue, an international summer school on Protest and Proclamation: An Interreligious Perspective Towards the History of Prophetology. At the crossroad of Jewish studies, Church and European history, and Islamic studies, the summer school aims to provide an in-depth discussion of the meanings and implications of prophetology in the history of the Abrahamic religions from both a critical-exegetical and a cultural-historical perspective, and with a special focus on their multifaceted interactions. The scriptures of each religion and a series of case studies from the late antiquity to the early modern will be tackled comparatively. During the five-day summer school, experts in the history of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam will hold keynote speeches, lectures, and workshops on source analysis. Advanced MA students, PhDs, and Postdocs are invited to participate and to present their current research projects. The working language is English. The call for application, with a detailed programme of the event, will follow in autumn.
