Under the guiding theme “Peninsula and Isthmus as Geographical Factors and Spaces of Exchange or Retreat”, scientists will discuss the significance of the two geographical dimensions of peninsulas and Isthmus in a two-day conference with a workshop character from different disciplines of ancient sciences, including geomorphology. Discussions around the factors sea and coast are to focus on geographical, economic, socio-political and cultural factors, whereby the material base – not least due to the interdisciplinary design of the conference – needs to be re-examined from a multi-perspective perspective.
