The Istituto Civico di Formazione Musicale SoulArt was founded in 1999 to offer a selection of professional courses for band musicians, taught in the small village of Loveno, in Menaggio (CO). The educational offer was also extended to include piano and violin lessons, among others. In 2002, the MUSICA NOVA Social Cooperative Society was founded in Como. In 2007, the MUSICA NOVA Cooperative Assembly of Members elected M° Massimo De Maria as the company's new legal representative and he is still in office today.
Over the past few years, the cooperative has supported and participated in various music festivals in the region. In April 2018, it also contributed to the organisation of an international piano masterclass at Villa Vigoni. SoulArt students perform regularly in places such as Villa Camozzi in Grandola and Uniti, the Cinelario theatre in Menaggio and at the Menaggio Guitar Festival.
