The aim of the colloquium is to reconstruct the relationships between culture, history and environmental influences through archeology, history and natural sciences.

How did historic societies respond to environmental change? Research from Italy and Germany will be merged to create a network that will serve as a starting point for new projects. At the same time, the role of archeology in the current debate on climate change will be discussed.
