ABSTRACT

The "knowledge of Europe" (annual focus of Villa Vigoni) always contains questions of religious history. With a view to the present, the question of the shaping of Christian politics in particular promises a high gain in knowledge for answering the question "what holds Europe together". On the basis of cultural and social historical perspectives, the conference asks about the development paths of Christian politics in various European countries. In doing so, special attention will be paid to Christian politics beyond Christian democracy, for example in social democratic or "green" parties or even outside any party.
