Youth Manifesto

In 2022, a group of young people from Italy and Germany gathered at Villa Vigoni and in digital conferences to exchange views on the main challenges facing the younger generations in Europe today. The participants placed the topic of active citizenship at the centre of their reflection. This meeting also opened up the possibility of talking about expectations, dreams, ideas and wishes for a future Europe. In the course of this intense exchange, the Youth Manifesto #NextGeneration was drafted, which contains concrete proposals in the areas of sustainability, environmental protection, education, inclusion and digitalisation.

The project was launched in the context of the European Year of Youth 2022. It is based on the conviction that, now more than ever, the voices of young people need to be heard in the public debate. In order to achieve this aim, the manifesto was presented at several locations in Germany and Italy during the parliamentary elections in June 2024 and will continue to be submitted to politicians, academics and the general public in both countries as well as in Brussels.
