A Gathering of Representatives of German, Italian and European finance institutions in Rome
On the 30th of April 2025, a debate with experts in the fields of economy and finance, regarding the need for a European ‘Savings and Investments Union’, took place at Villa Almone, the residence of the German Ambassador Dr. Hans Dieter Lucas, in Rome. The event was organized by Villa Vigoni and the German Embassy as part of the long-standing project VIGOnomics.
Luigi Federico Signorini, General Director of the Banca D’Italia, Michael Theurer, member of the board of the Bundesbank and former member of the European Parliament, and Alessandra Atripaldi, Deputy Manager of the DG FISMA of the European Union, took part in the debate, which was moderated by Prof. Thorsten Beck, Director of the Florence School of Banking and Finance.
Villa Vigoni thanks all the experts and participants for the fruitful exchange of ideas. Special thanks go to the German Embassy for their cooperation.
The encounter in Rome was not the only event to be staged in 2025 within the framework of the VIGOnomics project, which is dedicated to the economic pillars of European integration and to research into the progress of the economic and monetary union from a German and Italian perspective in particular. This year, the Euro Workshop, serving as the VIGOnomics flagship event, will be held at Villa Vigoni from the 17th until the 20th of July 2025.
