VIGOnomics
Open Dialogues on Europe's Economic and Monetary Union
VIGOnomics is a project dedicated to the economic pillars of European integration, with a particular focus on examining the progress of the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) from both Italian and German perspectives. The central event of the project is the Euro Workshop, where each year, high-level experts from Italian, German, and European economic and banking institutions gather at Villa Vigoni to discuss the most pressing issues regarding the future of the Eurozone. The project also includes a series of German-Italian debates each year: roundtable discussions with academic and political experts, aimed at fostering closer collaboration between universities and institutions; public events to disseminate the results of these expert discussions, raising public awareness of key issues related to the common currency and, as much as possible, helping to immunize against fake news.
The project aims to:
- promote a German-Italian network on economic and monetary policy issues, facilitating connections between figures from political, academic, and institutional fields through Villa Vigoni;
- create a platform for discussions between Italy, Germany, and other European countries on issues related to the common currency;
- strengthen connections between universities, politics, and institutions to promote the exchange of information and knowledge.
