Call for proposals for German-Italian cooperation

German-Italian cooperation in the humanities and social sciences

The binational call for proposals offers academics from both countries the opportunity to discuss current academic issues relating to European culture, history and society as part of a conference at Villa Vigoni (colloquia, seminars for doctoral and post-doctoral students or ‘close reading’ symposia).

In accordance with Villa Vigoni's mission, the conferences are intended to promote ‘German-Italian relations in research, education and culture in the European spirit’ and in particular to facilitate encounters between young researchers.
The working languages are Italian and/or German and/or English.

The programme is conceived and organised by Villa Vigoni in cooperation with the German Research Foundation (DFG). The tender is published every year in September and the deadline for applications is in December.

In 2024, the call for proposals will begin on 2nd September and end on 1st December. The approved conferences will take place in 2026. The application form must contain the signatures of all applicants and be sent in digital form (as a PDF document) to the e-mail address segreteria@villavigoni.eu.
