Ambassador Michele Valensise has been elected president of the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI, the Institute for International Affairs). He will take the place of Ambassador Ferdinando Nelli Feroci, who has held the post since 2013, and begin his mandate at the beginning of next year.
Thanks to his competence in the field of international relations, Ambassador Valensise will be well placed to consolidate and develop the IAI’s activities. After his election, he declared: “I am honoured by my election as president of the Istituto Affari Internazionali at the end of the mandate of my colleague and friend Ferdinando Nelli Feroci. Due to its traditions and experience, the IAI holds an esteemed place in the field of research into international relations, and its role in a world beset by challenges and insecurities is destined to become ever more relevant. I am certain that the Institute’s ample patrimony of knowledge will continue to be a valuable resource for both the sector and Italy, and I am happy to be able to contribute to such an important institution.”
