Recent national and European elections have highlighted the growing popularity of populist and right-wing parties in many countries, often linked to increased national sentiment and criticism of political and economic elites. This phenomenon is also linked to significant regional and social inequalities, with some areas expressing a sense of exclusion and lack of prospects. Italy, with its historical territorial disparities and the impact of the 2008 crisis, is a significant example. The seminar aims to provide a forum for discussion between policy makers, experts and social representatives to analyse these developments. The objective is to identify more effective territorial policies and strengthen democratic dialogue.
