Until now, studies on the creative process in music have always focused on the practice of individual composers. Likewise, national research traditions have developed independently of each other (this is what has happened for instance with the methodological traditions of Italy, France and Germany). For the first time, therefore, a group of internationally renowned scholars, experts of the compositional praxis in different musical historical periods, will discuss the different research approaches, but especially the conceptual premises of comparative research on the creative process in music.
Within the framework of the German-Italian cooperation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft – Villa Vigoni).
