Italy and Germany boast fascinating narrative traditions, which shape the past in an original way and are both undergoing enormous challenges. The first and most important challenge is the predominance of English as academic language, but the crisis of the printed book as the main tool for disseminating historical texts, and the use of new forms of communication (Youtube, podcast, series) also play an important role. Our Villa Vigoni Talk is devoted precisely to the question of telling stories and writing history in this challenging era.
