The planned conference will for the first time scientifically review, historically classify and medially interpret the work of the association Arbeit an Europa. The center is the so-called European Archive of Voices, which provides a platform for international interviews with contemporary witnesses of the European unification process. The conference will provide a basic overview of the topics and focal points of the content. From this, a discussion about their scientific use as historical sources is to emerge. In particular, the aim here is to embed the Arbeit an Europa project in a media history of discourses on Europe in conjunction with the resulting possibility of locating the results of the association in terms of cultural history, pointing out intertextual predecessor projects and, finally, also demonstrating to the humanities the possible fruitfulness and historical line of tradition of Arbeit an Europa.
