The Economic Worlds of Early Medieval Polities

The workshop “The Economic Realities of Early Medieval Communities” invites archaeology students from the University of Bonn to rethink early medieval economic exchange through the concept of heterarchy.
Through both theoretical and practical sessions, participants will explore material culture, power relations, and economic networks as different lenses on the social dynamics of the early Middle Ages.
