This is a continuation of numerous initiatives by Villa Vigoni aimed at fostering German-Italian-European remembrance. Villa Vigoni has long maintained close ties with the small town of Boves in southern Piedmont, which was burnt to the ground by an SS unit in September 1943; these ties include, amongst other things, various seminars for young people from Italy and Germany. The study and remembrance day planned for 14 October 2026 is set to involve 12 young people from both countries. The German Ambassador to Rome, Dr Thomas Bagger, has confirmed his attendance.
Within the framework of the “Young Villa Vigoni” programme.
