The second meeting of the Villa Vigoni trilateral conference MOBAB will focus on “Environment and Resources”. Mobility is treated here as the movement of people in search of raw materials, important for their lives and industries, or getting from one place to another within exchange networks. In addition to landscape changes, questions of availability and access to natural resources are addressed. The latter include plants and animals involved in the production of goods with high nutritional, commercial or social value (e.g. oil, purple), but also mineral resources (stones, ores, metal, salt). The MOBAB conference lays the foundation for a stable, long-lasting research network of scholars working in Balkan archaeology.
