The seminar will investigate the concept of individuality, fundamental to contemporary democratic ideals and institutions, seeking a definition that avoids individualistic or atomistic tendencies. Drawing on the work developed within Neo-Kantianism and Phenomenology — two philosophical traditions born in Germany but widely flourishing in Italy as well — the seminar will explore the intersections between the theoretical and practical aspects related to the constitution of the meaning and the consciousness of individuality. The seminar spans five days and includes lectures by senior researchers, presentations by doctoral students, and a concluding session dedicated to synthesis and future collaborations.
