Reflecting on the question of what truly holds Europe together is more relevant than ever in view of the Russian war on Ukraine. The conference series “Hamburg-Vigoni Forum” is dedicated to this guiding question and aims to stimulate dialogue between academia, policymakers and civil society in an innovative way. It is held in cooperation with the University of Hamburg, Europa-Kolleg Hamburg and the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy. In the second workshop of the format, specific questions around the themes of European “sovereignty and identity” will be addressed and illuminated on the basis of security and energy policy aspects, as well as specific national perspectives. With the participation of leading academics, the conference series thus promotes constructive discourse and contributes to formulating interpretive offers for politics based on a reflected and theoretically informed dialogue, as well as rendering the concept of Europe more tangible to the public at large.
