The workshop brings together researchers in Hispanic studies from all corners of Europe. From Lviv to Munich and Saarbrücken to Valladolid, Salamanca, Sevilla, and Murcia, and from Palermo to Turin to Stockholm, these are the regions where participants are exploring Spanish attitudes toward Europe. At Villa Vigoni, they use literary, cinematic, and historical documents to discuss various phases of engagement with Europe, such as the turn toward Europe at the beginning of the 20th century, the long-standing isolation under Francoism, and the ambivalence between European pessimism and highly committed European politics in the present day.
Within the framework of the “Exzellenzlabor Europa” project and the “Young Villa Vigoni” programme
Coordination
Prof. Dr. Janett Reinstädler, Universität des Saarlandes, CEUS (Cluster for European Research), Saarbrücken, in cooperation with Villa Vigoni
