The seminar addresses the topic of academic freedom in Europe, questioning its challenges and threats and, in particular, deepens the opposition between freedom of teaching and freedom of learning, together with the question of the use of new technologies; the relationship between freedom of science and freedom of expression; the organisation of higher education and, specifically, state interference in academic freedom and the question of the funding of science.
