Is time a moral value? Does morality relate to the past, present, and future in different ways? Do moral claims and guilt diminish over time? Do moral rights and duties have a temporal aspect? Does ‘good’ action have its own time, and does the choice or use of the ‘right moment’ carry moral significance? Do moral judgments have a temporal structure, tied to specific moments or periods? And what are the implications of the transience of human life and the things people strive for on morality?
The 3rd Philosophical DFG Symposium focusses on these questions. It aims to explore the relationship between morality and time, a topic that has often been overlooked, while also examining its many different aspects.
