With the foundation of the Cluster for European Research (CEUS) in 2021, Saarland University systematically expanded its broad orientation towards Europe. In connection with this new focus, a long-term programme of cooperation with Villa Vigoni was launched, within the framework of which joint activities are to take place every year.
The first „Exzellenzlabor Europa“ took place from the 9th to the 13th of September at Villa Vigoni. It included, along with a ceremony to mark the start of this cooperative venture, a Summer School for young scientists with the title „Restitution, Reparationen, Reparation – Wege zu einer neuen Weltgesellschaft?“.
