It has been published for Villa Vigoni Editore| Verlag the forthcoming volume "Divisione e riunificazione: itinerari storici nella Berlino della Guerra fredda" ("Division and Reunification: Historical Tours in Cold War Berlin") by Francesca Zilio (Research Fellow, Villa Vigoni).
Despite the profound transformations of the urban landscape over the last 30 years, Berlin still is the best place to discover the history of German division and reunification. The book takes the reader through the stages of this story, in a tour of Berlin places, where history has left the most material and immaterial traces. The German reunification was among the first topics analysed at Villa Vigoni – German-Italian Centre for the European Dialogue, founded in 1986, which faced the challenge posed by an event that trasformed the relations between Italy and Germany. On the 30th anniversary, Villa Vigoni celebrates it by offering the Italian public a tool to better understand the German and European history.
